When strength is the primary consideration in choosing a line for various applications, nylon is often the preferred option. Nylon has a high tensile strength, making it very durable and able to handle significant weights and pressures without breaking. Additionally, nylon possesses excellent elasticity, allowing it to stretch under load, which can absorb shock and prevent snapping.

This is particularly important in marine environments where lines may be exposed to varying conditions (such as changes in load, moisture, and temperature). The ability of nylon to maintain strength over time and resist abrasion further enhances its appeal when strength is paramount.

In contrast, while polypropylene is lightweight and floats, it does not have the same strength and durability as nylon. Dacron is strong but lacks some of the elasticity that makes nylon so effective in dynamic applications. Therefore, in contexts where strength is the most critical factor, nylon is typically the most suitable choice.
